The fact is, economic growth can actually be accelerated with climate change. The current economic climate has meant businesses and industry are suffering. All around the world global GDP is reducing in some way or another. The idea that meeting reduction targets of CO2 will slow down the economy down is not founded. Building an infrastructure on green technology could re-ignite the economy. Investing in renewable energy schemes will help with the fight against rising CO2 emissions and also provide jobs for those who are struggling to find work.
As the recession slowsglobal economiesdown, fighting climate change could build them back up again.

I strongly agree with the idea of portraying the problems of climate change to the public in a more user friendly matter. I am studying for a degree in environmental conservation and im currently in my third year. After three yearsI am almost sick to death of reading these 'targets' laid out by politicians changing from place to place and organisation to organisation. Laypeople with no environmental concerns are the key area to make information accessible toand really start making a change with peoples attitudes towards carbon emissions. By relaying information to the public in a way that only semi-interested/aware people are going to understand is not going to increase the public support and action needed to meet these 'targets' laid out by governments. A bottom upapproach is crucial to fight climate change and instead of preaching at people to change their behaviours, we need to educate them and make sure they understand why their actions are having a negative effect, and make future reduction levels more understandable.
