The competition

By expressing your ideas and opinions on connect2earth, you are not only connecting with others around the world, but you are also entering a competition with unique rewards! Every 6 months a lucky member will be selected from the the top 10 contributors to the site to participate in the experience of a lifetime.


What can you win?

A trip to the UN Climate change negotiations in Copenhagen
This is the most important event of the year and possibly the most important event ever, since it is the last chance our leaders have to agree on measures to stop global warming. And you could be there alongside a WWF or IUCN delegation!
The competition closed on 31 October and the connect2earth team is currently selecting the winner from the 10 best-rated members at the end of October. These are:

A solar charger for your mobile phone
Every 2 months, as we wrap up discussions on our chosen theme, we will select the best contributor on that theme. This lucky winner will receive a clever and environmentally-friendly mobile phone solar charger.

How do you enter the competition?

1. Participate in the discussions,

2. Upload videos and images to illustrate you point if you wish

3. Rate other contributions. This is very important! No ratings, no competition...



How are the winners selected?

- For the Copenhagen trip:

At the end of October 09 we'll take the 10 best rated members; you can see who they are in the "Top contributors" box on the current theme home page. And we'll select the best one.

The best one is not necessarily the best rated: we'll look for interesting comments, compelling images or videos, participation in the discussion, participation in various themes...

The selection Jury includes the connect2earth team, the experts, as well as the Director General of WWF and IUCN and the head of Nokia's Environmental Affairs

- For the solar charger:

On the last day of the current theme, we take the 10 best contributors and select the best one.

The best one is not necessarily the best rated: we'll look for interesting comments, compelling images or videos, participation in the discussion, interest overtime...

The selection Jury includes the connect2earth team and the theme expert.
